Priya Sriram

“Yoga is not just about the physical practice. It's about a journey towards self-discovery”, opines Yogacharya Priya. All aspects of Yoga intrigue her and practice of these at a subtle level helps her to maintain discipline in life.

She started her Hatha Yoga practice about 15 years back, initially with an intention of being healthy and physically fit. “I never thought Yoga will become a passion and eventually my profession” she says reflectively. Deciding to go deeper, she enrolled for the 200 hrs Teachers Training Course at Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dhanawantri Ashram, Kerala (India headquarters of ISYVC Quebec, Canada) and eventually added another 300 hrs to her academics through the Advanced Teachers Training Course at Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Meenakshi Ashram, Madurai. Post her two trainings while teaching Hatha Yoga classes as a volunteer teacher at Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dwarka Centre, New Delhi, she got attracted towards Ashtanga 4 years back and decided to learn, practice and teach this fascinating form.

At Yoga Vedanta, she shares her vast experience of Hatha and Ashtanga formats with the students translating the benefits of Yoga into holistic health. Her teaching specialisation is Fat-loss, Gentle Yoga, PCOS management sessions to name a few but like any other passionate Ashtanga teacher, she loves extending the knowledge and her skills in this form to Yoga Vedanta members who are keen to learn.
