Sheffali Budhiraja
"I wish I had discovered yoga as a child", often thinks Sheffali, who found her passion for yoga later on in life while taking prenatal classes for back pain.
After being given the diagnosis of her son being on the autism spectrum she knew bringing yoga into her kids' lives would benefit them immensely. Unable to find a teacher who could use Yoga Asanas to intrigue her son, she decided to pursue teacher training herself. She received her first kids' yoga certification from Cosmic Kids by Jamie and started teaching her kids and their friends from the neighbourhood. She has worked with kids with special needs and has completed her training for "Yoga for Special Child" with Sonia Sumar. Her boundless energy keeps fanning the fire in her to go deeper in the field. Currently, she is pursuing her certification in Kid's meditation, studying under the guidance of Deborah Bennet from Heal Me Yoga.
Sheffali has been teaching kids yoga passionately for the past 6 years and as a part of her extensive volunteer experience, she took up teaching Kids’ Yoga at Yoga Vedanta in mid 2021. In her approach, she uses Yoga postures, breathing, and relaxation techniques through imaginative and creative stories, songs and games that kids love!
She hopes to inspire a lifelong love for yoga in children. "Teaching kids yoga nourishes my soul, it brings me immense joy and I want to keep doing it until my last breath” is her commitment to herself.
Other than planning kids' yoga lessons, Sheffali runs her own business and is a strong advocate for clean and healthy living.
