For Vijaya, the Founder of Yoga Vedanta Initiative, holistic health and spiritual strength is the primary motivation to bring people together on this yogic journey. Enthusiastic, empathetic and patient, she ensures that everyone feels included and no one feels intimidated in her classes. Her live online yoga classes especially focus on yoga for the elderly and those with physical constraints. Meditative Pre and post-natal yoga are her specialisation.
Yoga Academics & Experience: She trained as yoga teacher in 2011 from Sivananda Yoga Dhanwantari Ashram Kerala, India and a year later was invited to teach pre/post natal yoga, gentle yoga and kids yoga at Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dwarka Centre in Delhi. She continued this till May 2018 when she was awarded a scholarship by International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres to go through an Intense Pranayama course called Sadhna Intensive at its HQ Ashram in Canada. After successful completion of this intense course she was awarded the certification Yoga Bhaskar. Returning to India, she continued her personal practice and resumed teaching her favourite formats.
Founder: During Covid lockdown in March 2020, taking an initiative to pay back to the society, she along with Suresh founded Yoga Vedanta - a free online platform at that time, for passionate yoga practitioners in their family, business and social circles.
Yoga Recipes and Blogs: An ex-Govt official and entrepreneur by profession, when Vijaya isn’t teaching yoga she writes scripts & blogs on the subject, curates yogic recipes and records chants & mantras for her YouTube channel.
